Question: Purchasing a car questions?
I’m finally ready to buy a new car since the market is kind of in slump. I’m thinking right now would be the best time if any to get a car. Here’s my situation:
I owe about $1500 on my recent car but my car is worth a litttle $2000 according to KBB.
I want to buy a 2005 Scion Xb that’s listed at $10,000. And I’m thinking of taking out a personal loan to get the car at a lower price. I don’t want to get financed at the dealership because I’ve already been screwed once because of my lack of knowledge.
I thinking after my loan is approved to offer $8000 for the new car which I want to include Sales Tax and tags in return for paying my car off. Good idea and will it sound like a good deal to the dealership? Also since I’m using a personal loan, does the bank still hold the title?
Answer: Yes, you can do that.
The local Kia dealer is selling brand new 2007 models for 50% of MSRP. So you get a new car with 5 year warranty and 5 year roadside assistance for $7,200. Or you can buy a 4 year old Scion for $10,000..
