Irs Mailing Address For Payments

Question: Has anyone received their forwarded stimulus payment?

I filed a change of address at the post office way before I did my taxes, but my husband forgot to change the address on his W-2, so the IRS used our old address on file. I called my local post office and they said they forward them on, they do not mail them back. I just wanted to know if anyone has received their check by forwarding and about how long it took. I’m trying to figure out a time table on how long the the forwarding process takes.

Answer: Most post offices do not forward the checks, but I’ve heard of a couple of exceptions. If they do, it’s generally a 10 day wait.
I wouldn’t count on it, though. You should call the IRS at 1-800-829-0582, extension 726, and change the address.
