What Is Fair Tax System
Question: Is the current federal income tax a fair system?
please explan WHY or WHY NOT. (:
Answer: It depends.
Looking at strictly as to percentage of taxes that are paid, it is a fair system to the poor, b/c taxes are low for them and a unfair system to the rich, b/c based on percentage of income, they pay more.
It is a progressive system, and from a business standpoint it is not fair. When you raise the cost on higher brackets, it takes away incentives for people. With higher taxes, a employeer may not be allowed to hire additional employee due to additional cost.
In short it depends on what your agenda is.
