Sales Tax Littleton Colorado
Sales Tax Littleton Colorado
Question: Can someone provide a breakdown of the Colorado Sales Tax?
It seems to be different everywhere. Does anyone know the exact percentages in the counties around the Denver metro area. I just moved to Littleton recently and it seems cheaper down here than other places. Thanks!
Answer: The starting point is with Colorado’s state Sales Tax. The state rate is 2.9 percent.
As you’ve noticed, many counties and cities charge their own rates in addition to the base state rate. There are also certain county and special district taxes that may apply. The most common special district taxes are:
* Regional Transportation District (RTD), which affects the counties of Denver, Boulder, Jefferson and portions of Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield and Douglas
* Cultural Facilities District (CD)
* Football Stadium District (FD or FTBL), approved by the voters to pay for and help build the Denver Broncos’ stadium
* Local Improvement District (LID) within designated areas of southeast Jefferson and Boulder counties
* Regional Transportation District (RTA) taxes at varying rates in Basalt, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs and Gunnison County.It all gets pretty complicated, which you already know.
However, if you click on the link below, you can find out the actual tax rate for any city or county.
