Question: Anyone know how long it will take to receive a child support payment that was offset from my ex’s tax refund?
My son’s father told me last night that he received a letter stating that his tax refund would be offset for child support that he has in arrearages. How long will it take before I actually receive the payment from the offset? Thanks!
Answer: I am not completely sure, but you go girl! I bet he shit a brick when he got that letter. I got my ex’s Tax Return a few years ago and it showed up around the same time ours did. It should go pretty quickly since it is all electronic. Call your local domestic relations office and they should be able to track the exact location of that money.
