Question: printing a free publication does one has to pay tax for the printing if so, how can I avoid in paying the tax?
Answer: Your question is not written clearly but here goes my 2 cents.
If you want to print a publication and distribute it yourself free, there is NO Sales Tax you have to collect. You didn’t sell anything you just gave it away. Just like if it was a flyer. The only Sales Tax you would have to pay is on the printing(labor) and the paper. There is no way around that unless you printed it yourself using your own equipment.
Remember, you only pay taxes on something that is sold….SOLD at a price!!!! If you get it free or you give it free then no txes are due. It ia based on value…no value…no taxes!!!
Good luck,
