Irs Vita Training

Question: How Many Hours of VITA Tax Training is Required for Certificate?

I am a soldier preparing to seperate rom the service. I completed VITA Tax training with the IRS two consecutive years. I am trying to figure out how many hours that training that adds up to so that I may add that to my resume. Any Ideas?!?!

Answer: I just got my schedule for TCE classes yesterday, and there are six days, plus four of (optional) computer training. But the certification depends on passing the test, not on class attendance. TCE and VITA training are the same. In our group, new people sometimes go additional days. I think it varies a lot. I’ve been doing this for years.

I wouldn’t try to put a number of hours on your resume, just put VITA tax training 2 years, and note if you actually worked at a VITA center those years.
