Tax Identification Search
Question: Can I just go up to a cop and ask for ID? They can do it to every day citizens could I do it back?
Apparently cops without any cause whats so ever can just go up to someone and ask for their ID maybe to gain cause for a search later but never the less… As a Tax Paying citizen do I have the right to go up to a cop and ask for identification? Does a cop have the right to tell me no or get away from me or by rule is he supposed to let me see his ID?
Now a cop can’t assume Im doing it to be a wiseguy… I would imagine the assertion the cop would make is Im trying to confirm hes a real cop and I do not want to see his badge I want the ID can I do this under those assertions? Maybe I would have a Mag Light on when asking as well for effect : )Answer: don’t start a conversation with a cop, especially if you are going to be a smart ass. he’ll find something your doing wrong. maybe hit him with some tuna.
