Tax Credits 2008 Energy

Question: I had an energy efficient heat pump installed in November of 2008. Do I get a tax credit under the new stimuls?

It was installed in 2008 . Do I get a tax credit for this ??

Answer: The current tax law for 2008 does not include a credit for heat pumps unless it is a geothermal heat pump. The new stimulus plan includes a tax credit for 2009 and 2010 but does not say anything about being retro active for 2008. This could change but has not yet.
