Question: Should we split California into 2 states?

Ah yes. Driving to work today I listened to NPR’s dismal report of how our state is getting further and further into the deficit hole.
Our Sales Tax is almost 9%, our auto registration might triple…
Some argue that the state has become too massive. Too many people, and we have become ungovernable. Our taxes lost in a giant bureaucratic mess.
What do you think? Do we split it up? Wise or stupid? Southern Ca getting Hollywood, OC, etc. Northern getting Sacramento, San Fran, etc….?
How persceptive of you “short and to the point”. It’s the best catagory to ask those who actually live in the state for their thoughts.

Answer: Southern California has access to water because of Northern. The North has access to tax revenues because of the South.

Both regions could get by independently, but they’d lose a lot of social programs due to lack of funding, the North for not having state Income Taxes from the 31 million people, ports, and business center of the state (Los Angeles). The South would likely have to spend more money to purchase water, meaning less funding reserves available.

Bad idea, all around.
