Poverty Level Taxes

Question: Why can’t Social Security just be an anti-poverty program, instead of a retirement plan?

Know one get rich from the payout, except the rich who pay in huge amounts.
Why tie payout to payin?
Dems want equality in everything. Tie payout to the poverty level.
Wont this prevent the insolvency to come?
Wont it be cheaper and less taxing?
Wont it be the safety net the poor need and less of an issue to the others that don’t want it.

Answer: ….Or just raise the upper limit on those that pay into it. The contribution to the program tops out at $90,000. Raise that up, and the program can be solvent, and those people can still receive the benefit.
