Question: when your a student are you still eliagible to pay rent?

i am 24 and have went into full time education (collage). I have no income at the minuite as i am applying for student grants. my housing officer is under the impression i still have to pay rent. How is this if i have no income? then she sed i have to get a student loan out to cover my rent , surely thats not right? i know i will be entitled to Council Tax benifit but housing benifit? Im totally confused.

Answer: You don’t pay Council Tax, but still have to pay the rent.

When students move away, they still pay the rent.
