Tax Software 2008 Download

Question: Can I use my copy of Turbo Tax Deluxe Edition for 2008 when I do my taxes for 2009?

Assuming I downloaded the software and didn’t use it at all, then can I used it next year? Thanks in advance.

Answer: No. TurboTax is only good for the year purchased. Right now, for sale, is TurboTax 2008. It will only process returns for 2008. The tax laws change every year. There is no way for them to predict the laws of 2009; and they do not contain the logic to do taxes for 2007. It’s only good for tax year 2008.

The good news: When you buy TurboTax 2009 next year, it’ll find TurboTax 2008 on your PC and will offer to automatically copy information; thus saving you time preparing your taxes.
